I often do work for the Oregon Resource Guide and I offer a 50% discount to anyone who advertises with them.
J. Scott Cellars wanted a photo of their wine with flowers for the spring edition of the guide. I actually had a selection of flowers in my inventory but also went to Rhythm and Blooms to get some fresh flowers so I could experiment with them in the foreground. We only needed a few images for their ad, but I decided to also create a composite of the splashing wine. This created a dynamic element to the composition and invites the onlooker’s eye to linger on the ad a little longer than a static image might. It took about 4 hours of studio time and about 3 hours culling images, retouching and creating the composite. Without the composite image, this session would probably be 3 hours total.
